Overview

Provides up to $6,000 per year and per application, covering up to 75% of eligible costs, for short-term training opportunities so tourism workers can gain new skills and tourism operators can support a well-trained tourism labour force in the Northwest Territories.

Who can apply

  • Must have a business, not-for-profit tourism association or organization engaged in the tourism sector in the NWT, or be part of a group of individuals from various tourism businesses collaborating for training.
  • Formal volunteers (e.g. festival or event) may be considered under group funding.
  • Individuals or businesses in the aviation industry are not eligible.
  • Training must be short, formal courses or workshops under 12 weeks and not eligible under EI training funding.
