MINERVA Initiative – Arctic Uncrewed Air System (Innovative Solutions Canada)

Challenge seeking a simple, durable and highly survivable uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) that reduces training and maintenance demands so soldiers can focus on their mission while operating in extreme cold weather conditions. Selected proposals are funded through the Department of National Defence.

• For-profit business incorporated in Canada (federally or provincially)
• small or medium-sized with 499 or fewer full-time equivalent employees
• R&D activities performed in Canada
• 50% or more of annual wages, salaries and fees paid to employees/contractors working mainly in Canada
• 50% or more of employees have Canada as ordinary place of work
• 50% or more of senior executives (VP and above) reside principally in Canada
• proposed solution at technology readiness level (TRL) 5 to 9.
