DND and the Canadian Armed Forces seek modular, stand-alone wind-powered electric generation systems that can be easily transported, deployed and maintained in remote northern locations to provide clean energy under extreme cold, high-wind and icing conditions. Funding is staged by technology readiness level, from solution development through design to building and validating a prototype.
Open to individuals, academia, not-for-profit organizations, provincial/territorial or municipal government organizations, and industry organizations.
