Overview

Assistance for Newfoundland and Labrador employment insurance (EI)-eligible individuals to start a business. Participants may continue receiving EI benefits until the end of their benefit period, after which they may receive a living allowance to the end of their Self-Employment Assistance agreement; those not receiving EI may be eligible for financial assistance for living expenses.

Who can apply

  • Individuals currently receiving an Employment Insurance claim, or unemployed persons for whom a benefit period is established or whose benefit period ended within the previous 60 months
  • Newfoundland and Labrador based.
