Provides independent fish harvesters in Newfoundland and Labrador with more accessible institutional financing through loan guarantees, down payment loans, and interest rebates to support fish harvesting projects.

Who can apply

  • Must be a Canadian citizen/entity residing in Newfoundland and Labrador
  • eligible to hold a commercial fishing licence
  • registered full-time harvester as certified by the Professional Fish Harvesters Certification Board
  • favourable credit record and demonstrated commercial viability
  • deemed eligible for financing by the financial institution
  • must remain in good standing with the province and the financial institution.
